How it all started...

My husband Eric proposed on Labor Day Weekend 2004 and so my search for the perfect gown began! My mom, sister, and I went to several boutiques and finally ended up at this unique, eclectic boutique in Mount Horeb. It is here that I not only found my dream dress, but also my dream career. The owner was interested in selling her business and so I jumped at the opportunity and purchased Elegant Bridal in the summer of 2005.

The original business was a shop that featured not only bridal, but also vintage clothing & it was not visible on Main Street.  We moved locations to a charming Main Street storefont in Mount Horeb in 2007 and we have grown our business in this location for nearly 15 years.

Marah's Story

I have a background in design, studying initially in fashion design and eventually graduating with a degree in Interior Design from UW Madison....yes, I do love the Badgers! Owning and managing a bridal boutique has truly been a blessing....I have been able to be a mom & live the dream of owning my own business.  Plus I get to work in the fashion industry, and use my interior design skills to create a warm and welcoming space for my customers.

I have to say my favorite part over the past years of being in business is meeting and connecting with so many wonderful women! Your wedding gown will be the most important garment you will ever wear, and is such a significant part of how you feel on your wedding day. Weddings are filled with emotions and is one of the most cherished days in your life…I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to help so many women find “the perfect gown”.

My husband and I have three children Cal, Isla, and Faye (and our doggy baby Dolly).  When I am not being a wife and a mom I love to decorate my house, be with friends, and coach my daughters softball team!  My claim to fame is I was voted “Best Dressed” class of Southwestern High School 1996.
